Is coaching essential for passing IBPS bank exams? Well, we would definitely recommend it if you’re coming from a non-banking-related stream. Given that a degree is the basic eligibility for IBPS exam, candidates from almost all sectors, even the medical/nursing fields are nowadays applying for bank jobs. Contestants who are not so proficient on banking and financial terms, solving mathematical questions, etc. may find IBPS exam a bit hard if they do not go for pre-examination training. IBPS by its own means provides pre-exam coaching for SC/ST applicants; the rest has to depend on third-party coaching centers for their preparations.
Why should I go for coaching when I can comfortably sit at my home and prepare for the exam with a few good books?
1. Get the right study Materials: Coaching houses have years of knowledge in preparing study materials for bank exams. They know the current/past trends in the examination, the usual pattern of questions, and the sections of IBPS syllabus, which needs more attention. Some may be able to crack the exam just by buying a set of previous years of questions papers and working out them at home but not everyone can do this. Getting the right direction and guidance from an experienced is much important for an IBPS aspirant.
2. Learn to manage time: One of the greatest advantages of going to a coaching center for IBPS training is that they teach you to mange time. There are some short-cut methods for doing certain mathematical problems and aptitude questions that are often asked in IBPS exams. Getting that quick problem solving skill greatly helps a candidate in competitive exams.
3. Hands on Online and offline tests: New IBPS applicants may not be familiar with the online examination platform that IBPS uses. The best IBPS coaching centers out there have already employed computer based testing systems at their facilities, and students taking training on such infrastructure can quickly adapt with the original examination process.

IFBI: The NIIT promoted IFBI is a well-known and greatly advertised Institute for bank coaching. IFBI conducts a wide variety of courses in the banking area, starting from exam training to post-graduate courses. IFBI’s post-graduate programmes are accepted by all major private banks in India. The admission to IFBI’s post graduate courses is based on the results of yearly run NBET (National Banking Eligibility Test). Those who pass the NBET test get the opportunity to enroll into three different courses namely PGDBO (ICICI), PGDB ( Kotak Mahindra, Dhanalakshmi, ING Vysa, Yes Banks), PGDRB (Axis) leading to a direct recruitment to aforementioned private banks in India.
Apart from this, IFBI also runs training programmes for students preparing IBPS Exam for Clerk and PO. In fact, its IFBI who conducted IBPS’s pre-examination training for SC/SC students in the year 2011-2012. We are not much impressed with the study material provided by IFBI under PCPO home course, and we couldn’t collect feedback from anyone opted for the Swift course. However, you can prefer IFBI for your coaching needs if want to get your training done from an IBPS endorsed coaching provider.
