SBI PO Exam 2013 dates of registration

SBI is one among the few nationalized banks in India which in 2013 not using IBPS exam for recruiting officers to PO and Clerk positions. Being one of the largest banks with a lot of branches and extension facilities throughout the World SBI requires around 5000 new officers every year. Now this year the bank has reported a vacancy of 1500 and announced the dates of online registration for SBI PO exam 2013, which will be conducted in offline mode in the coming month of April.

The web-based application for this year’s SBI PO exam will commence at the end of this month and will last until 23rd of February. The tentative date of written examination is 28th of April 2013. As said before there are approximately 1500 vacancies, which may increase later depending upon the requirements of the State Bank. There is reservation and will be according to the following table.

The first foremost is the Citizenship rule that clearly asserts that the candidate should be an Indian. Similar to the IBPS norms the bottom-end educational qualification for taking part in SBI PO exam 2013 is a college degree. The applicant should have a minimum age of 21 years, and the age level should not go beyond 30 years as on 01.01.2013. In accordance with the law, a relaxation in age is applicable to non-creamy layer OBC ( 3 yrs), SC/ST (5 yrs), and at least 40% disabled (10 yrs), but it is cumulative like that in IBPS CWE. OBC candidates who come from the ” Creamy Layer ” backgrounds should select their category as GEN during online registration.

The structure of examination and Syllabus.

The SBI PO recruitment 2013 is structured to be organized in two phases. The first one is the Exam. The exam has two sections, an Objective and a descriptive test. The Objective test in SBI PO exam is of 200 marks and consist of four different modules, which carry 50 marks each.

Descriptive paper in English language is of one-hour duration, and mainly tests the writing skills of the applicant. Those who qualify for both these examinations will be called (up-to three times the number of vacancies) for the GD and Interview in the Phase 2. Minimum qualifying mark in Phase 1 and Phase 2 is decided by the bank after assessing the number of applications and general performance of all the candidates.

If selected, the candidate will get a trainee status and will be sent to apprenticeship for two years. After the training, there is a filtering process to choose out the best officers. Those who get a score that matches with the predetermined standards of the bank will be promoted to the subsequent executive roles, like Officer Middle Management Grade Scale II. Those who get a passing mark will be posted at one of the SBI branches as Junior Officer Grade one. The duties of those trainees who fails in this process will be withdrawn, and they will get terminated from the job. Salary and Benefits:

Getting through the SBI PO exam is a bit tougher than IBPS CWE, and that is pretty worthwhile given that the bank is ready to provide excellent salary and other aids for the officers. As per the notification, the basic pay for a Junior Management Officer at SBI starts at 17000 INR. After adding the cash benefits and allowances the total annual compensation for a Grade one officer will be around RS 8 Lakhs in Mumbai.
