Steps to apply online for IBPS Exam 2021 (PO, Clerk, RRB & SO)

The www.ibps.in portal offers sub-pages for tracking the updates about IBPS PO (Link), Clerk (Link), RRB (Link), and SO (Link) recruitments. Currently, they only have the details of the current year’s (2021) recruitment, but you can expect new notifications by May 2021.
IBPS PO RRB, Clerk and SO notification
Now the first, thing before you even plan to apply for IBPS recruitment is to download the notification. The IBPS advertisement comes in PDF format has all the details of the recruitment, like eligibility, syllabus, and the overall overview of the entrance test.

IBPS exam application has multiple stages, starting with the online registration of the user and creating a login password. The first two, and the last step of the application form is the same for PO, Clerk, RRB, and Specialist recruitments. The change appears in step 3 of the online registration page, where candidates select the cadre related options.
Step 1: Apply for IBPS login ID and password online
Confirm for the date and eligibility, and choose an IBPS recruitment for which you want to apply online. Then click on the appropriate application links; we have the login URLs for IBPS PO, Clerk, SO, and RRB recruitment at the top section of this site.
- To start, press on the “Click here for New Registration” (a yellow button usually) once you see the IBPS application page.
- Then you see a PDF file with all the instructions you need to follow during the IBPS’s online. Read everything and close it.
- Now complete the Basic Info part in the form with utmost care. Enter your Name, personal phone number, and an email ID for getting the IBPS registration number.
IBPS then process and display your login ID and password in the next page. You will also get and SMS and email confirming your registration, but remember to take a screenshot of the same.
Step 2: Upload photo and signature as per IBPS requirements
As said earlier, the IBPS registration number and temporary password appear when you proceed from the first page. Here you can also see an option to upload your photo and signature. Use the mouse pointer to browse and upload the documents to the IBPS registration form. If the uploads in the correct format, you see them on your application form; then, you can save it and proceed to the next section.
Apart from this, you also have to upload a scanned copy of your left thumb impression and self-written declaration to the IBPS portal. IBPS has certain rules on the dimensions and size of the files you upload to their servers. You can get it all these files done it at a local computer center if you don’t have a scanner at your place. Many of these centers already know IBPS requirements, and they need less than 15 minutes if you handover all the documents.
The option for uploading declaration and thumb-impression comes as the fourth step, after you complete and submit your IBPS exam application form.
Step 3: Fill IBPS PO, Clerk, RRB, or SO application form
The “Details” section of the IBPS application has multiple pages arranged in tabs. And it is the most important part where the candidates enter their qualifications, communication address, etc. and make a complete profile. Here, the applicants select and claim their relaxation benefits based on community and other criteria mentioned in IBPS eligibility requirements. They also need to provide their previous IBPS exam appearances (if any) along with the registration numbers.

Pressing Save & Next button takes you to the next tab. Now submit the details of your degree course, certificates, work experience, nature of work if currently employed, and language proficiency.
Sometimes you might also see the option to submit the order of bank preferences while applying for the IBPS exam. This order is taken into consideration if a candidate clears the IBPS recruitment and is eligible for placement.
If you don’t have information while filling the online application, use the option to save the form and do it later.
Step 4: Finalise and register IBPS exam application form
When you proceed from the “Details” page, IBPS shows you fully completed application form in one single page. Verify all information, confirm photo and signature, agree to the terms, and press the Final Submit button. You won’t be able to change anything in the IBPS application form after this stage.
Now comes the option for uploading the declaration form and the thumb impression. Candidates need to write the declaration part of the IBPS form themselves, with black color ink. We have given the size and dimensions of the files in step 2.
As shown in the screenshot, there is an option to preview the uploads before proceeding to the payments.
Step 5: Pay fee and confirm IBPS registration number
Finally, it’s the time to pay the fee amount for your confirming your online IBPS registration. As 2021, the IBPS application fee is 600 INR for candidates (General category) applying for PO, Clerk, RRB, or Specialist Officer (SO) recruitments. However, aspirants who have a reservation (SC/ST/PWBD/EXSM) needs to pay only 100 rupees. The charges include GST and all other IBPS services during the term of recruitment.
When you see the exact amount, enter the security code, and click the submit button to pay IBPS’s fees for online application. IBPS’s partner BillDesk accepts Credit & Debit cards, Wallets, and Netbanking for online payment.
Step 6: Sign-in to download & print IBPS payment receipt and application form.
IBPS may require candidates to produce a print-out of their online application form, and the e-payment receipt at the exam center. So make sure that you download and save these documents immediately after doing the registration.
You can do this by signing-in to the IBPS login page for PO, Clerk, RRB, or SO recruitment. After login, click on the links at the top left corner to download and print the required files.

- How to fix Your device is not allowed error on the IBPS website: Although you could access www.ibps.in on a mobile device, you need to use a desktop computer to apply for IBPS PO, Clerk, RRB and SO recruitment. Also, a PC or Mac is a must for downloading IBPS call letters and checking results.
- IBPS deducted payment, but registration incomplete: The amount gets credited to your bank account in 2-3 days If the payment gateway fails. Do a re-registration if your IBPS application is not successful.
- How to change exam center or a detail in the submitted application form?: It is not possible online, but you may contact IBPS support for assistance.
