Headquartered in Chennai, UIIC (United India Insurance Company Limited) is a Government-owned Insurance Bureau with presence across the nation. UIIC is the nodal agency for National and State level insurance campaigns and is regarded as a general Insurance company by IRDA. United India Insurance has around 1500 offices, and each year it records around 1000 job openings in Administrative Officer and Assistant categories. IBPS is overseeing the online recruitment and exams for UIIC from last year, and currently the agency is accepting applications for UIIC Assistant Recruitment 2015.
An Assistant job in public insurance companies is more or less equal to the clerical position in banks in terms of the Salary and benefits. As of 2015, a newly appointed Assistant/Clerk in UIIC is entitled to get approximately 17000 /-INR as initial salary. The scale of pay is expected to get a revision in this year; the current level is given below.
UIIC Recruitment 2015: dates for online registration and exam.
As per the latest UIIC notification, an Assistant recruitment is about to be organized to fill approximately 750 open vacancies. The rank list for this recruitment becomes effective only in 2016 so the number of opportunities may go up in the coming months. The state-wise list of UIIC Assistant vacancies is uploaded here.
Registration for the UIIC Assistant Recruitment 2015 starts on 07-07-2015, and the last date is 20-07-2015; aspirants get 13 days to complete all the formalities. The tentative date of the online exam is 30th of August 2015, and the candidates may be able to download their admit card ten days before the exam.
Eligibility for the UIIC Assistant recruitment 2015:
As of 2015, most of the banks/insurance firms have set degree as the minimum educational qualification for applying Clerk or Assistant Exam. However, for UIIC Assistant recruitment, the essential requirement is +2 with at least 60% marks (50% for Ex-Servicemen, SC, ST and PWD categories). The age condition remains the same as for other IBPS recruitments; candidates in the 18-28 age group (as of 30-06-2015) can apply.
As always, relaxation in the age limit applies to people coming from reserved communities and the existing employees of the United India Insurance Company. Candidates applying to UIIC Assistant Cadre are required to have written and verbal proficiency in the local language of the office location that they are selecting in the application form, but it is not mandatory for Administrative posts.
UIIC exam 2015 syllabus and marking scheme.
Like all IBPS recruitments, the UIIC Assistant exam will be conducted through online means. It is an objective test with 250 marks and five sections. Participants get two hours to complete all the questions that carry 1.25 mark.
We are not sure about any negative marking in the exam as it is not mentioned in the UIIC 2015 notification. The score (out of 250) that the examinees get in UIIC exam will be converted to 35, and it will be added with Interview results (out of 15) to form the final marks in 50.
United India Insurance will conduct a computer proficiency test for all the competitors admitted for interviews. There won’t any marks for this computer test, but it will be one of the qualifying factors for the final selection.

After completing the form, applicants are required to pay the examination fee (450 for GN, 75 for SC/ST/PWD) through the IBPS payment gateway to confirm their admittance to the recruitment. A reg number and password will be sent to the applicant’s mobile number and email address during the online enrollment. Use it to login and download the full application form, payment receipt, etc. and call letter for the UIIC Assistant exam 2015 and Interview.
Assistants selected to United India Insurance should go through a 6-month probation period before their placement in company offices. Those who fail to meet the set standards may be sent for another round of training.
